The Vision

Education New Zealand were creating a campaign to celebrate Te Ao Māori and sharingAotearoa’s unique cultural heritage with the foreign student community. The campaign captured intimate Māori customs and a beautifully shot visit to a Marae with a traditional Pōwhiri; welcome ceremony.

Sound Design Approach

To craft the atmosphere for this project, we were lucky enough to be able to work with the amazing Taonga Pūoro recordings of Jennifer Cattermole of Otago University. With these as a beautiful base, we experimented with utilising these in interesting ways to honour tradition while creating a sense of energy and dynamic pacing for the project.

With a tight turn around, we crafted the sonic elements, including the mix and master, bringing the campaign to life and more happy clients to boot!
