A sci fi synth album - a score to a film that doesn’t exist.
The Vision
Cosmica, Earth’s first trans-galactic spacecraft is capable of crossing vast distances previously thought impossible to terrestrial life.
Cosmica is a quantum leap for deep space exploration, capable of achieving faster-than-light travel, pushing ever closer to the universal speed limit of 300,000 kilometres per second, by contracting space in front and expanding space behind it.
With the astonishing advances in wormhole cartography over the last two decades, Cosmica’s interdimensional mode allows pilots to traverse these holy portals and chart a course through the exotic matter that warps and spirals, dancing eternally in the fires of the unseen Cosmos.
Sound Design Approach
This album is the culmination of 2 years of exploration into hardware synthesis and creative, boundary-pushing use of effects pedals. The album is a genre-bending psychedelic space adventure which was the fruit of a very organic experimental process to build an intimate connection with hardware synthesizers and the intriguing relationships these can have when combined in unique ways.
The album called for a narrative thread to really bring the journey together which was a fascinating process to write before recording with voiceover artist Faunee.
